From elite rugby league to the culinary stage, Will Mataka has built a profile defined by discipline, passion, and bold, flavour-packed creativity.
Between 2009 and 2014, Will competed at the highest level of professional rugby league in Australia’s NRL spending time with the Wests Tigers and Sydney Roosters, as well as playing internationally in France. Following his retirement from professional sport, he seamlessly transitioned into the culinary world, trading tackles for taste.
Today, Will’s cooking style is celebrated for its vibrant, measured approach, blending rich cultural heritage with global flavours. In 2025, he brought that signature culinary drive to a national audience on Season 15 of Seven’s My Kitchen Rules alongside cooking partner Justin.
With a compelling crossover appeal spanning sport, food, culture, and lifestyle, Will is available for brand partnerships, media appearances, live cooking demonstrations, and corporate engagements.
